John Huston (8/5/1906, Leo Horse), Ava Gardner (12/24/1922, Capricorn Dog) : The actor and director became lifelong friends after they worked together on The Night of the Iguana (1964). Gardner described: "I have only one rule in acting—trust the director and give him heart and soul. And the director I trusted most of all was John Huston. Working with him gave me the only real joy I’ve ever had in movies…[Huston] felt the character, especially the way I played her, was warmer, more human, a better person than [writer] Tennessee [Williams’] original ending allowed, and he had the scene rewritten to emphasize that point. Tennessee was never happy with that, but anyone seeing the film knows that John’s choice was the only one that fit."

David O. Russell (8/20/1958, Leo Dog), Bradley Cooper (1/5/1975, Capricorn Tiger) : The director and actor famously collaborated (with Jennifer Lawrence) on three consecutive award-winning films: Silver Linings Playbook (2012), American Hustle (2013), and Joy (2015). Cooper described: "Now [Russell's] like my brother. That's not just because he's here, or because we're doing this interview. It's just the truth. I love working with David so much. Every day, I remind myself, 'You get to work with the greatest director around. And he asks you to collaborate with him.' There are times when you realize you're threading the needle in a beautiful way, which happened a lot with Richie DiMaso [the character Cooper played in American Hustle]. I love that character so much."

James Baldwin (8/2/1924, Leo Rat), Martin Luther King Jr. (1/15/1929, Capricorn Dragon) : The writer and civil rights leader shared a mutually admiring relationship. In 1961, King wrote Baldwin: "Your analysis of the [race relations] problem is always creative and penetrating. Your honesty and courage in telling the truth to white Americans, even if it hurts, is most impressive." Baldwin described in a 1961 essay: "[T]he Reverend King is not like any preacher I have ever met before. For one thing, to state it baldly, I liked him. It is rare that one likes a world-famous man—by the time they become world-famous they rarely like themselves, which may account for this antipathy. Yet King is immediately and tremendously winning, there is really no other word for it...[T]he fact that King really loves the people he represents and has—therefore—no hidden, interior need to hate the white people who oppose him has had and will, I think, continue to have the most far-reaching and unpredictable repercussions on our racial situation."

Heidi Klum (6/1/1973, Gemini Ox), Seal (2/19/1963, Pisces Rabbit) : The model and musician were married from 2005 to 2012, and had three children together. Shortly after they began their relationship, Klum told Seal she was pregnant to her previous boyfriend. Seal described in 2008: "There was a pause of about 10 seconds and I said, 'It doesn't change the way I feel about you because the fact that you are here tells me that you think a lot about me.' People have said I was such a good person, so courageous. I honestly don't see it like that. I was the lucky one." After their break-up, Klum referred to them renewing their vows each year they were married, saying: "I think I got married eight times to Seal. I thought it would be kind of, like, fun. I thought it would be a fest of love. But you know, that doesn't work either. I tried, you can't say I didn't try!"

Stephen Eckelberry (12/8/1961, Sagittarius Ox), Karen Black (7/1/1939, Cancer Rabbit) : The actor/singer/songwriter and director/editor were together from 1983 until Black's death in 2013. They married in 1987 and adopted a daughter. Describing Black's posthumous song anthology, Dreaming of You (1971–1976), Eckelberry said: "When she acted, she was a consummate character actor. She was almost so good as a character actor that it harmed her ability to be a movie star because she was so totally enveloped in the role. So here, you have an opportunity to see the real Karen. The creativity that comes straight from her. It’s not the dialogue of some screenwriter, no matter how good they may be; it’s her own. And that is the greatest thing that comes out of this for me."

Jane Fonda (12/21/1937, Sagittarius Ox), Lily Tomlin (9/1/1939, Virgo Rabbit) : The two actors have been close friends since they starred together in the movie, 9 to 5 (1980). Recently, they co-starred as the leads in the TV show Grace and Frankie (2015-2022). Fonda has described about their relationship: "Male friendships are facing outward, side-by-side, looking out, ‘Oh, look at her boobs,’ ‘God, what a great car.’ Women friendships are face-to-face, and it’s like, ‘Can you help me? I’m really lost,’ and you’ll take me into your arms. We’re not afraid to ask for help, we’re not afraid to express vulnerability [and] we just drill down to soul-level very fast." Tomlin said in 2023: "[Fonda's] always been the ‘take a leap of faith’ girl to me. I just loved her innocence and her need to make everybody OK with it, and do the right thing. And thank God I did do the movie [9 to 5]. It was a blessing."

Louis Armstrong (8/4/1901, Leo Ox), Bing Crosby (5/3/1903, Taurus Rabbit) : The jazz musician/actor and singer/actor shared a friendly relationship as two of the biggest stars in the early twentieth century. Crosby reportedly lobbied for Armstrong to receive prominent billing when they co-starred in the film, Pennies from Heaven (1936), a first for a Black actor in a mainstream movie. They later recorded the album Bing and Satchmo (1960). Although Armstrong famously said, "I’ve never been invited to the home of a movie star – not even Bing’s," Crosby wrote affectionately in the months before Armstrong's death in 1971: "I’m saddened to hear that you have been stricken again, Pops….I think of you often, and I will always recall, with pleasure, the times when we get together for an appearance, or a visit. They’re too infrequent, it seems to me, and when you get back to work, we’ll have to change all this."

Jack Nicholson (4/22/1937, Taurus Ox), Anjelica Huston (7/8/1951, Cancer Rabbit) : The two legendary actors were together for seventeen years until 1990. They co-starred in Prizzi's Honor (1985), for which Huston won an Academy Award. Nicholson continued to see other women during their relationship, and Huston wrote in her memoir, Watch Me (2014): "Occasionally, I’d find a piece of female apparel...or a trinket might get left behind in the soap dish. Sometimes I’d take to wearing the jewelry to see if anybody would come up and claim it, but that never happened." She also described: "There was a profound and devoted sense of loyalty with Jack. If he invested in you, or if he placed his heart with you, it meant something for life. Jack had a very healthy awareness and a self-approbation that you could enjoy with him. He saw the lunacy in situations and was generally at the center of it." In 1980, Nicholson said , "I certainly would say [Huston]’s the love of my life."

Daphna Kastner (4/17/1961, Aries Ox), Harvey Keitel (5/13/1939, Taurus Rabbit) : The two actors married secretly in 2001 and have a son together. Keitel has described how they first met at a party in the 1980s, but after two dinners Kastner turned him down. Seventeen years afterwards, they met again at a party and stayed together: "Seven weeks later, I was going to a film festival in Italy and I asked her to come with me. She said, 'Yes,’ and on the flight, I said, ‘What do you think about getting married?’ She gave a great answer: she said, ‘OK.'"

Gene Simmons (8/25/1949, Virgo Ox), Paul Stanley (1/20/1952, Aquarius Rabbit) : The two musicians and founding members of the band Kiss have been collaborators for over 50 years. Stanley described in 2021: "[W]e're very different, but we certainly share a pride in what we do, a work ethic...Even when things have been tough...we always were family...I'm very, very lucky to have him. And I don't necessarily agree with everything he does. But does anybody?" Simmons said in 2017: "[T]ime is the ultimate judge, and the fact that [Stanley and I have] been together, at this point for over 40 years says volumes. There have been times where I’ve been very angry and resentful — and I’m not saying momentarily — I’m saying for long periods of time. But, in time, everything falls in place and you get a better perspective — hopefully. If you don’t expect from someone what’s not possible, then you won’t be disappointed."
