Signs separated by three steps around the Western zodiac wheel form a Square, or hard 90° degree, interval. The energy here is perpendicular and powerful. Hence these two tend to disagree often and hard!
Even minor questions can provoke passionate debate. Leo's element, Fire, is the most dynamic, spirited, and at times tumultuous of all the elements. Taurus' Earth, on the other hand, is defined by its slow-moving, rock-solid dependability. Leo will thus often feel quite claustrophobic, as if Taurus is not letting them burst forth as they were born to do. Taurus, meanwhile, can feel rushed or overborne by Leo's fervent extremes of enthusiasm, generosity, or criticism. The result can be a vicious circle which exacerbates both signs' more challenging traits. Taurus may retreat into stubborn recalcitrance, while Leo loses themselves in arrogance or fury. Because these two signs share the same Fixed modality, focused on tangible results and getting things done, it goes against both of their natures to back down. Compromise could take eons to reach.
On the plus side, the tensions here are by no means always serious. In fact, the energy between Leo and Taurus can give rise to all kinds of playful competition, flirtatiousness, or hilarity. More importantly, certainly in the longer term, this relationship may have profound benefits for both signs' individual identities. Square energy is unparalleled in its ability to reveal what is essential to one's true nature. By exposing what is most important—what can be compromised, and what cannot—the combination of Leo and Taurus yields rewards that may last a lifetime. Some distance or compartmentalization in the relationship may be useful at times, to reduce the toll this powerful energy can take day to day.
If these two are able to harness their contrasting instincts one way or another, then they may achieve incredible outcomes, both separately and together.

In 2018, Barroso described how they met: "Matt’s story is that he saw me across the room and there was a light on me. And I’m like, 'Yeah, it was a nightclub—there were lights everywhere! But he had started getting recognized...so he came and hid behind my bar… [wanting to] just hang out back there and have a drink...So I put him to work with me! I said, 'You know, if you’re going to be back here, you can’t just be standing there!'"
Bridget Moynahan (4/28/1971, Taurus Pig), Tom Brady (8/3/1977, Leo Snake) : The actor/model and NFL legend were together for three years from 2004 to 2006. Moynahan has spoken about the challenges of that period, saying, "Going through that traumatic time of being heartbroken and then being pregnant turned my whole life upside down and inside out and just knocked the wind out of me." Later, she described: "Tom and I made a decision to raise a child together and we both found partners that not only supported us in raising that child, but also loved our child as if he was their own...My son is surrounded by love and grandparents that go on forever, and it's all good."

In 2020 (after the birth of their first child, Stormi), Jenner described: "We’re, like, best friends. We both love [our daughter] Stormi and want what’s best for her. We stay connected and coordinated. I think about [my parents, Kris Jenner and Caitlyn Jenner], in situations with Stormi, what they would do. Isiah Thomas (4/30/1961, Taurus Ox), Magic Johnson (8/14/1959, Leo Pig) : The relationship between the two basketball legends was reportedly strained even before an on-court fight during the 1988 NBA Finals. In Johnson's 2009 book, When the Game was Ours, he admitted working behind the scenes to keep Thomas out of the 1992 United States Olympics "Dream Team", because he believed Thomas had been spreading rumours about his sexuality after his HIV diagnosis. The two reconciled in 2017, with Johnson saying, "You are my brother. Let me apologize if I hurt you, that we haven’t been together and God is good to bring us back together."

Dragon and Pig
Compatibility overview
In theory, there is not much obvious fortune—either good or bad—at play in the relationship between firsteast and secondeast. Yet there is potentially a diamond-in-the-rough quality to this combination. With the right compromises, these two together can make an impressive and fulfilling relationship.

According to the Chinese zodiac, the pairing of Pig and Dragon exists outside the classical matches to pursue or avoid. These signs' respective Trine families—which for the Dragon includes the Monkey and Rat, and for the Pig, the Rabbit and Sheep—are not generally known for harmonious relations. Indeed, there are some troubling matches between them, such as the Pig and Monkey, or the Dragon and Rabbit.
Fortunately, however, the Dragon and Pig themselves avoid the most difficult aspects of the energy that surrounds them. In fact, the specific characteristics of these two signs can bring forth surprisingly strong synergies. The Pig's trustworthy nature is liable to be taken advantage of, so the power and confidence of the Dragon offers the Pig great reassurance. This in turn fills the Dragon with pride. The Dragon's awesome energy occasionally leaves them feeling isolated or unappreciated, and at such times the boundless generosity of the Pig can nourish and relax them. Often the sweetest moments for this pair have intimate overtones, as the Pig's sensual nature fulfils the Dragon's insatiable desire for attention.
On the other hand, matters of organization may provoke some challenging disagreements for this pair. The Pig is more likely to prefer to stay close to home, whereas the Dragon is instinctively a rolling stone, always on the lookout for the next adventure. Although these two together can be consummate entertainers, the Pig will rarely be able to match the Dragon's stamina in any department. Care will need to be taken to prevent the Pig feeling exhausted all the time.
All things considered, however, there are some truly lovely aspects to this match. If the two signs can accommodate their sometimes starkly different motives, there are considerable prospects for enrichment and success. Indeed, these are ultimately two of the luckiest signs in the Chinese zodiac—for them to share their luck together can be simply spectacular.

Annette O'Toole (4/1/1952, Aries Dragon), Michael McKean (10/17/1947, Libra Pig) : The actor and actor/screenwriter/comedian/musician have been married since 1999. They each have two children from a previous marriage. Their co-written song, "A Kiss at the End of the Rainbow", was nominated for an Oscar In a recent joint interview, they spoke about their love of reading together, with O'Toole describing: "Michael has a very mellifluous voice. I get up really early in the morning, so, I’m really tired by the end of the night, and his voice completely puts me to sleep, not because I’m bored, but because it’s so soothing. When we’re trying to remember who read last and he says it’s in the middle of the chapter, that means I must have read last, meaning I fell asleep."
Aaron Lohr (4/7/1976, Aries Dragon), Idina Menzel (5/30/1971, Gemini Pig) : The actor/singer and actor collaborated together in 2005, in the movie version of the Broadway production, Rent (2005), and the off-Broadway musical, See What I Wanna See (2005). They later became romantic partners, buying a house together in 2015, and marrying in 2017. Menzel has described: "Family, to me, means being able to be yourself, sit back on the couch and relax, and watch a movie with the people that know you better than anyone else in the world."
Bruce Lee (11/27/1940, Sagittarius Dragon), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (4/16/1947, Aries Pig) : The basketball legend and martial artist/actor were friends and collaborators. They were to have appeared together in the film, Game of Death, which was incomplete at the time of Lee's death in 1973. Abdul-Jabbar wrote in 2022: "Bruce Lee was my friend and teacher...I first met Bruce when I was a student at UCLA looking to continue my martial arts studies...We quickly developed a friendship as well as a student-teacher relationship. He taught me the discipline and spirituality of martial arts, which was greatly responsible for me being able to play competitively in the NBA for 20 years with very few injuries."
Al Pacino (4/25/1940, Taurus Dragon), John Cazale (8/12/1935, Leo Pig) : The two actors shared a supportive friendship and were frequent collaborators, notably in The Godfather (1972), The Godfather Part II (1974), and Dog Day Afternoon (1975). Pacino said in 2022: "John Cazale, in general, was one of the great actors of our time — that time, any time. I learned so much from him. I had done a lot of theater and three films with him. He was inspiring, he just was. And he didn’t get credit for any of it. He was in five films, all Oscar-nominated films, and he was great in all of them. He was particularly great in Godfather II and I don’t think he got that kind of recognition."
Elsa Pataky (7/18/1976, Cancer Dragon), Chris Hemsworth (8/11/1983, Leo Pig) : The model and actor have been married since 2010 and have three children together. Pataky was quoted as saying in 2020, "It's funny that people think of us as a perfect couple. No way. It's been ups and downs, and we still keep working at the relationship."

Ultimately, the best aspects of this relationship have terrific potential, and with requisite independence and clear communication, these two may achieve lasting personal growth and solidarity.
