Chinese Zodiac Compatibility
Rabbit and Snake
Compatibility overview
Compatibility in the Chinese zodiac often focuses on extremes of positivity or negativity, but the match between firsteast and secondeast presents a less straightforward picture. There are some challenging undercurrents, but these two can share a caring and respectful connection, with plenty of opportunity for a rewarding and close bond.
Rabbit and Snake - Relationship Horoscope
The Rabbit and Snake may encounter both powerful affinities and tensions in this energy match.
At the heart of the Chinese zodiac is the concept of the four Trine Families, which naturally divide into two streams. The families of the Rabbit (with the Pig and Sheep) and the Snake (with the Ox and Rooster) belong to different streams, which contributes an underlying instability to their connection. However, while there are some seriously challenging matches between their families (e.g., the Rabbit and Rooster, or the Snake and Pig), the Rabbit and Snake manage to avoid the most disturbing aspects of this surrounding energy.
These two signs share some powerful affinities. The Rabbit is instinctively an artist, highly sensitive and attuned to the emotional realm, and these traits resonate profoundly with the deep-thinking, philosophically-minded Snake. The Snake exudes sensuality and usually possesses an other-worldly attractiveness that can be powerfully captivating for the imaginative, impressionable Rabbit. Indeed, it is perhaps the mutual appreciation of beauty that binds these signs together most strongly, and they often feel deeply protective towards each other, as if the preciousness of the other sign is something that should be carefully guarded and shielded from harm.
Tensions are likely to surface around issues of freedom and resources. The Rabbit usually seeks to avoid drama at all costs, while the Snake can be terribly vulnerable to jealousy, so these two are at risk of a vicious circle where the Snake's possessiveness moves the Rabbit to wander, which makes the Snake yet more possessive. One of the Snake's great strengths is their pragmatism and skill in shaping social dynamics, which the more innocent-minded Rabbit may interpret as manipulative or untrustworthy. These pressures on the relationship may be quite emotionally fraught, given the soulful nature of these signs' initial connection. It may take some time for them to reconcile themselves to the kind of independent and respectful distance that in fact enables their relationship to function best.
With that said, the Rabbit and Snake will rarely, if ever, lose the sense of aesthetic admiration that unites them, and there are strong prospects for an enduring and stirring relationship long into the future.

Because everybody sees Dre as just a gangsta rapper, but he shares the same story that I have, a good kid in a mad city. When we sit in the studio, we talk about these different streets that we both lived on and experiences he had that I can relate to being two generations younger. I think that’s why people attach it so strongly because of the chemistry that we have outside the studio....Being under him and watching the passion, the same type of feel he has since the first early days of N.W.A., it’s crazy. That respect we had on the court, that competitiveness we took through to the top – it was special. That was the respect we had for each other, because we had to be on the court to do what we did. We had to be dominant." Following the Jordan-led documentary, The Last Dance (2020), Pippen has expressed frustration on multiple occasions. In 2020, he said: "I don’t think [The Last Dance] was that accurate in terms of really defining what was accomplished in one of the greatest eras of basketball, but also by two of the greatest players...I thought it was more about Michael trying to uplift himself and to be glorified. I think it also backfired to some degree in that people got a chance to see what kind of personality Michael had."
