Sagittarius and Pisces
Compatibility overview
This match is at once explosive and enriching. As a Square connection, which occurs when Western signs are three steps apart on the zodiac wheel, the relationship between firstwest and secondwest attracts remarkably intense energy. Chances are, this influence will involve some important challenges, but it can also prove enormously beneficial.

Beware the Square! Though somewhat tongue-in-cheek, the idea that a warning may be necessary for the combination of Pisces and Sagittarius is not completely out of place. For there is no shortage of head-to-head confrontation in this supercharged pairing.
Classical approaches to astrology identify some serious headwinds here. The respective elements—the Fire of Sagittarius, the Water of Pisces—are generally regarded as one of the least compatible mixtures. Both signs share the somewhat elusive Mutable modality, so there is none of the balancing influence that Cardinal and Fixed signs offer these two in other combinations. Pisces, being typically dreamy, gentle, and polite, are likely to struggle with Sagittarius' sometimes brusque, even disdainful, manner of delivery. Sagittarius can be exceptionally driven, and may at times disapprove of Pisces as flaky, overly meek, or prone to wasting their time. However, while Pisces can seem idealistic to the point of fragility, they are usually loath to compromise on their commitment to beauty and propriety. Some of Sagittarius' requirements may thus seem to be more trouble than they're worth.
As surprising as it may seem, however, given all these tensions, there is also much to be gained here. Sagittarius has been called the most philosophical of the Western signs, and there is a powerful synergy between their instinctive and all-encompassing command of ethics and Pisces' innate sense of oneness with the universe. As ever, opposite personalities can share intense attraction, and while these two may challenge and confuse each other, they may equally share a kind of mystified admiration. Perhaps most importantly, there is a quality of "partner stand ups" to this relationship. By forcing each other to confront what is most important in their lives, their respective identities can rise together, building mutual and independent strength.
It's not an easy road for these two, by any means, but it may ultimately prove a long and rewarding one.

Frank Sinatra (12/12/1915, Sagittarius Rabbit), Quincy Jones (3/14/1933, Pisces Rooster) : The legendary singer and the composer/arranger/producer were friends who collaborated on several occasions, including on the albums, It Might as Well Be Swing (1964), Sinatra at the Sands (1966), and L.A. Is My Lady (1984). In his autobiography, Q: The Autobiography of Quincy Jones (2001), Jones described: "Frank was my style. He was hip, straight up and straight ahead, and, above all, a monster musician. I loved him, man, I admit it, I loved him as much as anyone else I ever worked with, because there was no gray to the man. It was either black or white: If he loved you, there was nothing in the world he wouldn’t do for you. If he didn’t like you, shame on your ass…Frank led me into a new world. A land of dreams, high living—anything you felt like doin’, whatever, with whomever, whenever you felt like doin’ it—and making the music we both loved."
Milla Jovovich (12/17/1975, Sagittarius Rabbit), Luc Besson (3/18/1959, Pisces Pig) : The actor and director were married from 1997 to 1999, and famously collaborated on the films, The Fifth Element (1997), and The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc (1999). Jovovich has described: "Luc had cast me as the perfect woman [in The Fifth Element]. That felt wonderful in itself, but then when I saw how he had filmed me in the movie, I knew he loved me as much as I loved him...The movie [Joan of Arc] did not break us up. Luc and my personal life never got entangled in our professional life. If we could make movies 365 days a year, we would still be together. Luc and I have this unique creative connection. We did get married. But we're not together anymore in that sort of particular context. We're best friends, apart from being together or not. He loves me, I love him."
Hailey Bieber (11/22/1996, Sagittarius Rat), Justin Bieber (3/1/1994, Pisces Dog) : The musician and model/media personality first dated in 2016, and after a hiatus reconciled and married during 2018/2019. In 2019, Justin Bieber explained: "Fighting is good. Doesn't the Bible talk about righteous anger? We don't want to lose each other. We don't want to say the wrong thing, and so we've been struggling with not expressing our emotions, which has been driving me absolutely crazy because I just need to express myself, and it's been really difficult to get her to say what she feels."
Paula Patton (12/5/1975, Sagittarius Rabbit), Robin Thicke (3/10/1977, Pisces Snake) : The actor and singer were married between 2005 and 2015, and have a son together. Thicke has described how their relationship has established an equilibrium after an at times acrimonious divorce: "There's so much emotion when you first break up, and there's so much stuff that spills over...But time heals those wounds, and she's an incredible person. Once you can put yourself second, your son rises to the top and you go, 'It's not about us anymore.' We're very lucky the way everything has worked out."
Felicity Huffman (12/9/1962, Sagittarius Tiger), William H. Macy (3/13/1950, Pisces Tiger) : The two actors married in 1997, after 15 years of dating on-and-off. They have two children. Describing her decision to marry, Huffman said: "I was finally smart enough to go, 'I'm going to marry this guy or really lose him for good.' … I knew I couldn’t say no. It was the work I had to do in order to bring myself to the marriage and then the work that I did to be able to trust another person and see what comes out of that comfort and that safety. I was able to blossom out of that."
Ray Romano (12/21/1957, Sagittarius Rooster), Anna Romano (2/24/1963, Pisces Rabbit) : The successful comedian and actor/cinematographer met while working together as bank tellers and married in 1987—before Ray Romano committed full-time to comedy in 1990. They have four children together. Speaking humorously about their marriage, Ray said in 1997, "I talk a lot about being married and being tired and not having sex. She’s fine with it. Whenever she has a problem, I tell her to go cry on a bag of money."
Anuel AA (11/26/1992, Sagittarius Monkey), Ozuna (3/13/1992, Pisces Monkey) : The two singer/rappers have collaborated multiple times, including the chart-topping songs, "China" (2019), "Baila Baila Baila Remix" (2019), and "Adicto" (2019), and the album, Los Dioses (2021). In a joint interview, Ozuna said: "Someone has to sing about the pretty things in life, but someone has to sing about the ugly things, too — what you live when you come from where we came from." Anuel AA explained: "I did music for the street, and Ozuna was commercial. But because we started working together so much, we evolved. Ozuna began to make music for the street, and the street responded. And I started to do more commercial music, and the people in that world responded. We’ve had ups and downs, but we’ve never turned our backs on each other."

Sheep and Monkey
Compatibility overview
The combination of firsteast and secondeast is not always top of the list when it comes to theoretical compatibility, but in fact this match has some terrific potential. These signs are very different in some key respects, so at times tensions may prove inevitable. Yet there is also plenty of common ground and mutual admiration, which provide ample scope for a close and enriching connection.

Traditional Chinese astrology is often polarized between very strong or very challenging energy matches. The pairing of Monkey and Sheep, however, exists in the more flexible middle ground. Hence there is plenty of scope for these two to build a strong rapport from the very beginning.
Creativity is especially favoured here. After all, the Monkey is the virtuoso genius of the Chinese zodiac, while the Sheep is a conceptual thinker par excellence. Both of these souls are known for their vivacious senses of humour, so an inspiring flow of brilliant ideas accompanied by bursts of wit and hilarity is very much on the cards. Over time, these two are also capable of providing each other with profound emotional support. Behind the Monkey's high-octane personality, they can experience periods of quite intense loneliness and disillusion. The Sheep's instinctive generosity and great sensitivity make them an ideal source of reassurance and counsel. The Sheep, on the other hand, is susceptible to emotional disturbance and can be somewhat easily knocked off course. The Monkey, who possesses infinite curiosity and is a master problem-solver, can offer invaluable strategic advice to the anxiety-prone Sheep.
It is true that the Trine Families of each of these signs (like the elements in Western astrology)—which for the the Monkey includes the Dragon and Rat, and for the Sheep the Pig and Rabbit—are not especially harmonious. Indeed, there are some risky matches in this group (such as the Monkey and Pig, or the Sheep and Rat). Some of these surrounding tensions may affect the Monkey and Sheep. The Monkey's relentless energy may at times overpower or unsettle the peace-loving Sheep, for example, making the Sheep yearn for periods of calm. The Sheep's fretful nature could at times seem unnecessary or exaggerated in the eyes of the Monkey, and the Monkey may be frustrated by the suffering Sheep. Fortunately, the affinities between these signs are likely to be strong enough to repel the cross-currents.
While they will likely need space from each other from time to time, and there may be periods of instability, there is every chance these two will forge a meaningful and lasting bond.

William Shatner (3/22/1931, Aries Sheep), Nichelle Nichols (12/28/1932, Capricorn Monkey) : The two actors collaborated for many years, playing Captain Kirk and Nyota Uhura in the original Stark Trek TV show and films. They famously shared one of the first interracial kisses on US network television. Nichols' autobiography, Beyond Uhura (1994), describes Shatner as "incredibly charming", but also "bossing around and intimidating." In a noteworthy passage, she wrote: "While working on Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, I discovered something about Bill Shatner. He was a wonderful director to work for. Supportive, encouraging, inspiring—Bill turned out to be among the finest, most respectful directors I’ve ever worked with...I realized that what drove all of us crazy about him when he was acting was that he was directing. For whatever reason, Bill needs to control the action and be the center of attention...His authority in the director’s chair secure and unquestioned, Bill joined the team, however briefly."
Christopher Walken (3/31/1943, Aries Sheep), Georgianne Walken (2/8/1944, Aquarius Monkey) : The actor and casting director have been married since 1969. Georgianne Walken has described: "It’s very interesting being married to a man who is constantly playing a different person...You’re always living with a different person. He never tells me what part he’s playing when he’s getting ready. It just descends on me one day. [It’s] very interesting."
Nicole Kidman (6/20/1967, Gemini Sheep), Naomi Watts (9/28/1968, Libra Monkey) : The two actors, who both spent time growing up in Australia, formed a strong bond when they starred together in the film, Flirting (1991). Presenting Kidman the Crystal Award for Excellence in Film in 2015, Watts said, "Back in the day, you fueled me with hope and encouragement. You kept saying, ‘Nai, one thing, one thing. That’s all it takes. It will change everything.’ And it’s only later that I realized the true power of that statement...[Kidman] took me under her wing and she made me her sister. Her smaller sister. Nicole epitomizes for me the word sisterhood. She’s absolutely a woman’s woman. She’s highly spirited, has an infectious laugh, and always up for a good time. And when I say a good time, I mean a good time...The sisterhood needs many more friends like you, and the world needs many more people like you."
Keith Richards (12/18/1943, Sagittarius Sheep), Patti Hansen (3/17/1956, Pisces Monkey) : The legendary guitarist/founding member of The Rolling Stones and model/actress have been married since 1983. Richards has said, "When Patti and I met it was just . . . boom. There was life before Patti and life after. We just clicked, and she rescued me from, shall we say, dark periods . . . without going into too much detail."
George Harrison (2/25/1943, Pisces Sheep), Ravi Shankar (4/7/1920, Aries Monkey) : The two musicians famously collaborated from the late 1960s, after the sitar virtuoso Shankar agreed to give lessons on the instrument to Harrison. In 1997, Harrison edited and wrote the foreword for Shankar's memoir, Raga Mala (1997). Shankar described in the book: "I felt strongly that there was a beautiful soul in [Harrison], and recognised one quality which I always have valued enormously and which is considered the principal one in our culture—humility. Considering that he was so famous—part of the most popular group in the world ever!—he was nevertheless quite humble, with a childlike quality that he has retained to this day." Harrison wrote: "The moment we started, the feelings I got were of [Shankar's] patience, compassion and humility. The fact that he could do one of his five-hour concerts, but at the same time he could sit down and teach somebody from scratch...And he enjoyed it, he wasn’t grudging at all, and he wasn’t flash about it either."
Heath Ledger (4/4/1979, Aries Sheep), Michelle Williams (9/9/1980, Virgo Monkey) : The two actors co-starred in Brokeback Mountain and were married for three years. Williams has described how she spent the 10 years after Ledger's tragic death in 2008 seeking the "radical acceptance" he provided for her. She explained, "I always say to [their daughter] Matilda, 'Your dad loved me before anybody thought I was talented, or pretty, or had nice clothes.'"
Bob Woodward (3/26/1943, Aries Sheep), Carl Bernstein (2/14/1944, Aquarius Monkey) : The two investigative journalists became household names after their book, All the President's Men (1974), and the subsequent film with the same name (1976), became synonymous with the exposure of Watergate and the fall of the Nixon US presidency. Bernstein described in 2003: "There are special things only the two of us understand, from the work we did together to the way each of us looks at journalism. There are things we say to each other that we’d never say to anyone else. It was true during the reporting of Watergate, and it’s true now. No, we would not have been friends otherwise. We were not inclined to like each other before, and within weeks we came to develop this incredible respect for each other. Now, it’s a great friendship."

Final Words
firstwest and secondwest share a Square aspect that represents some of the most challenging energy in the Western zodiac—yet even as they struggle to reach agreement together, they can reap far-reaching benefits in terms of individual priorities, growth and direction. Complicating matters here is the combination of the firsteast and secondeast, who may admire and care deeply for one another, but who can also feel instinctively somewhat nervous or distant when together for extended periods. Ultimately, the best aspects of this relationship have terrific potential, and with requisite independence and clear communication, these two may achieve lasting personal growth and solidarity.
