After a period of separation during a difficult time for the young superstar, they have reconnected. Bieber has explained, "I was distant because I was ashamed. Reflecting on when they first sat down for an on-air interview 28 years earlier when Silverman was just 22-years-old and starting out, Silverman told O'Brien, "I love your show so much. I do. I love it so much. I mean, the first time I ever was recognized on the street was from your show. Because you’d always have me on. I’ve been on your show for so many years. I grew up on your show. Sinatra reportedly always kept a photo of Gardner taped to his dressing room mirrors, and a friend of Gardner has claimed that the actress had told her "that she never loved another man as much as she loved Frank."
