They were known for spending their evenings together in their 90s, watching Jeopardy and eating together at Reiner's house. In 2021, Brooks recalled: "Any time I could surprise [Reiner] and really break him up, I knew it was funny. He was the greatest audience. Kidjo described in 2022: "In 1989, I was asked to be [Makeba's] opening act in Paris. During my soundcheck, she walked onstage, and I was frozen. I was shaking from emotion. She said, 'Hello, little girl! You have a nice voice!' After that, every time she would see me, she’d say, 'You’re doing good!' It was a friendship between a daughter and a musical mother. She said, 'Never accept anyone to put you in the category of "world music." All music is in the world. Everything people listen to comes from Africa. Why are we put in the ghetto of "world music?"' She gave me a lot of advice...I want my music to carry her legacy and to sing to her every time I’m onstage."

Carly Simon (6/25/1945, Cancer Rooster), James Taylor (3/12/1948, Pisces Rat) : The two singer/songwriters were married from 1972 to 1983, and had two children. In her memoir, Boys in the Trees (2015), Simon wrote about their early intimacy: "It was the nicest contact I could ever know, could ever have asked for, or ever remember…James was my muse, my Orpheus, my ‘good night, sweet prince,’ my something-in-the-way-he-moves."

Pharrell Williams (4/5/1973, Aries Ox), Ariana Grande (6/26/1993, Cancer Rooster) : Musician/producer Williams produced and collaborated on singer/songwriter/actor Grande's Sweetener album. Grande described: "I don’t mix well with people who have crazy egos and right away [Williams] was super fun and chill and nice and there wasn’t any of that. He was more worried about getting to know me and making sure I was comfortable."

Sammy Davis, Jr. (12/8/1925, Sagittarius Ox), Kim Novak (2/13/1933, Aquarius Rooster) : The actor and entertainer reportedly shared an intense but risky romance in the late 1950s. Woody Harrelson (7/23/1961, Leo Ox), Matthew McConaughey (11/4/1969, Scorpio Rooster) : The two actors have been close friends for decades and have collaborated multiple times, including in Welcome to Hollywood (1998/2000), EDtv (1999), Surfer Dude (2008), and True Detective (2014). Responding to the suggestion that they might in fact be biological brothers, McConaughey said in 2023: "You know, where I start and where [Harrelson] ends, and where he starts and I end, has always been like a murky line. Naomi Osaka (10/16/1997, Libra Ox), Serena Williams (9/26/1981, Libra Rooster) : The two champion tennis players forged a strong bond after they met in the final of the US Open in 2018, when Williams received three on-court violations, and Osaka was visibly upset after her victory. In the aftermath of the match, Williams wrote an apology to Osaka, saying: "As I said on the court, I am so proud of you and I am truly sorry. I thought I was doing the right thing in sticking up for myself. But I had no idea the media would pit us against each other. I would love the chance to live that moment over again. I am, was, and will always be happy for you and supportive of you...All my love and your fan, Serena." Osaka responded, "People can misunderstand anger for strength because they can’t differentiate between the two. No one has stood up for themselves the way you have and you need to continue trailblazing." The pair have since maintained their supportive relationship, with Osaka saying in 2021: "It’s always an honour playing [Williams]...I was a little kid watching her play, and just to be on the court playing against her for me is a dream."

Kate Beckinsale (7/26/1973, Leo Ox), Pete Davidson (11/16/1993, Scorpio Rooster) : The actor/model and comedian/actor attracted pervasive media attention when they dated in 2019, with Beckinsale being nearly 20 years older. Seemingly referring to the relationship, Beckinsale said at the time: "I’ve never been in this position before — never dated anybody who comes with their own bag of mischief. It’s all quite shocking, and something to get used to. I think if you liked the person less, you would bow out of it. If that were the main thrust of the relationship, there would be a problem.
