These two should have plenty in common thanks to the shared sign of firstwest, while the Chinese zodiac match of firsteast and secondeast contributes mutual admiration and the possibility of a close bond.

Libra and Libra

Compatibility overview

The secure and tender connection between two natives of Libra can be one of the most promising shared-energy combinations in the Western zodiac. As ever with own-sign matches, a surplus of some qualities and dearth of others is likely to cause imbalances. But mutual support and camaraderie comes naturally to this contemplative, judicious pairing.

All own-sign combinations in the Western zodiac share the same beneficial element, which for two Libras is the lively, cerebral influence of Air. Right from the start, these two are likely to be attracted by their mutual love of diverse concepts and possibilities.

Two Libra natives will tend to admire greatly each other's enthusiasm, insight, and receptiveness. Libra's favorite time in any project is usually the formative stage, when options are at their most abundant and inchoate, hence for both parties this relationship may transition enticingly from one world of possibility to the next. The fine art of conversation will rarely seem so enjoyable as when they push each other to consider every angle, their extended sessions of intellectual exploration conducted with freedom, generosity, and acceptance, all the while increasing their closeness and mutual admiration.

Of course, own-sign matches must also deal with a shared modality, which in this case is the pure Cardinal energy associated with beginnings and inception. This energy may enhance the immediate sense of kinship between two Libras when they meet, but over time it can also lead to a growing sense of stagnation, of going around in circles rather than making meaningful progress. Without the influence of a balancing modality, dispute resolution might also prove challenging—like all Air signs, Libra has the potential to be bitingly critical or judgmental when frustrated. This pair would be well advised to make a conscious effort to stay nimble and creative, re-inventing aspects of their relationship as and when they feel fatigued, and giving each other space to recover from periods of intense collective brainstorming.

If they do not overwhelm each other, the sense of solidarity two Libras share may ultimately prove their greatest strength, contributing lasting warmth and belonging to their dynamic.

Douglas Emhoff and Kamala Harris

Kamala Harris (10/20/1964, Libra Dragon), Douglas Emhoff (10/13/1964, Libra Dragon) : The 49th Vice President of the US and her entertainment lawyer husband have been married since 2014. Harris is stepmother to Emhoff's two children from a previous marriage. In 2021, Emhoff wrote about campaigning together: "Before long, something clicked. This wasn’t just her work anymore — it was ours. As the campaign took us to different corners of the country, I took notes on what I heard out on the trail and shared them with Kamala over late night meals and stolen moments between events...I found that as I began dipping my toe into Kamala’s world, it brought us even closer together. I realized how much of yourself you leave on the trail, how much these stories weigh on you, and—though I couldn’t imagine it possible before this—I grew to understand and admire who she is and what she’s been able to accomplish even more. She had such a tremendous weight on her shoulders, and we were in a fight for the soul of this nation—together."

John Coltrane (9/23/1926, Libra Tiger), Thelonious Monk (10/10/1917, Libra Snake) : The two legends of jazz music shared a supportive and collaborative friendship. Their work together included the album, Thelonious Monk with John Coltrane (1961), and the live recording, Thelonious Monk Quartet with John Coltrane at Carnegie Hall (recorded 1957, released 2005). Coltrane explained in 1960: "Working with Monk brought me close to a musical architect of the highest order. I felt I learned from him in every way—through the senses, theoretically, technically. I would talk to Monk about musical problems and he would sit at the piano and show me the answers just by playing them...[Monk] also got me into the habit of playing long solos on his pieces, playing the same piece for a long time to find new conceptions of solos. It got so I would go as far as possible on one phrase until I ran out of ideas. The harmonies got to be an obsession for me."

Catherine Zeta-Jones (9/25/1969, Libra Rooster), Michael Douglas (9/25/1944, Libra Monkey) : The two actors share one of Hollywood's highest profile relationships. They married in 2000, and have two children. After a much-publicized but brief separation in 2013, they reconciled. Douglas described in 202: "We celebrated our 18th anniversary recently, and besides the genuine love that only continues to grow, I think the fact that we're in the same industry really helps us to understand what is going on...The joy of my marriage with Catherine and having our children at a point in my life where my career had been developed, allowed me much more time to enjoy my family."

Barbara Walters and Joy Behar

Barbara Walters (9/25/1929, Libra Snake), Joy Behar (10/7/1942, Libra Horse) : The two media personalities co-starred on the successful talk show founded by Walters, The View (1997-present). Walters reportedly selected Behar at the outset because, "She’s funny, intelligent and well-informed. I chose Joy because we wanted the show to be entertaining." After Walters died in 2022, Behar said, "[Walters is] very much the role model for a lot of people in showbiz and the news world for sure. She had a work ethic you couldn’t deny. She was always prepared and she was always working on her material. She never went out there and didn’t know what she was doing...She could have a laugh, have fun, tell a dirty joke. She was a lot of fun. We were pals. We’ve had a lot of laughs on camera and off camera."

A$AP Rocky and A$AP Ferg

A$AP Ferg (10/20/1988, Libra Dragon), A$AP Rocky (10/3/1988, Libra Dragon) : The two rappers are two of the highest-profile members of the hip hop collective, A$AP ("Always Strive And Prosper"). They have collaborated multiple times, including on the tracks, "Shabba" (2013), "Ghetto Symphony" (2013), "Work REMIX" (2013), "Hella Hoes" (2014), "New Level" (2015), "Runnin" (2018), and "Pups" (2019). A$AP Ferg described in 2019: "I don’t know everybody’s relationship with Rocky, but I got a real relationship with Rocky...Some people just think we don’t f— with each other sometimes, because they don’t see us together and s—. Like, no, we have a real relationship and s—. Regardless if I was A$AP or not, that’s my brother. That’s my brother... Nobody can’t talk to him about what we’re going through the way I can. Nobody else on the team can really have certain conversations with Rocky except for me, because I’ve experienced certain things on a certain level. Also, nobody on the outside is close enough to talk to Rocky the way I talk to him. So I’m talking to him like, 'You good? How’s the family?' Just everything. His home being invaded, and just, everything...We spend time together, too. I spent time at his crib. We were working out and was chilling for like two weeks together. He came to Harlem and stayed at my crib. He stayed for about a week. We make it happen and I always make sure my brother is good."

Snake and Dog

Compatibility overview

In Chinese astrology, sign combinations are often described in either glowing or disapproving terms. The match of firsteast and secondeast is more equivocal, however. There are some challenging undercurrents, which may contribute at times to nervousness or distance. Yet there is also capacity for great warmth, especially of a protective nature, which can be deeply meaningful for both signs.

Snake and Dog - Relationship Horoscope

The four Trine Families in the Chinese zodiac work a lot like the elements in Western astrology. Between the families of the Dog (with the Tiger and Horse) and the Snake (with the Ox and Rooster), there is some quite challenging energy. Indeed, some matches among this group (e.g., the Dog and Rooster, or the Snake and Tiger) can be especially risky. The Dog and Snake, though, avoid the most troubling aspects of this energy. In fact, they can often find common ground quite easily.

The Dog is a physical sign who works hard and plays hard, and the sensual attractiveness of the Snake means there is a good chance of mutual admiration at least on the surface. More importantly, the Snake is the most famously philosophical of the signs, while the Dog prides themselves on their wholesome ethics. Hence these two can have a whale of a time debating and exploring abstract ideas about justice, religion, or love.

The lurking instability of the surrounding energy may arise in various ways. The Snake can be prideful at times and is watchful with their finances, to say the least, both of which may offend the Dog's egalitarian approach to life. The Dog's plainspokenness and lack of nuance may confound and upset the Snake, who prefers greater serenity and can be easily wounded. Above all, the Snake's instincts to charm and beguile potentially conflict with the Dog's blunter, more direct attitude. Often, the result for the Dog and Snake is a relationship that functions best with some independence or separation.

The Dog almost always has a nurturing instinct, and they can feel strongly protective of the Snake's physical and intellectual grace. The Snake, meanwhile, can find their attractiveness a cause of loneliness and vulnerability, as if people often do not appreciate them for who they are, so the earnest support of the Dog can be wonderfully reassuring.

Managed effectively, even in small doses this relationship can prove a source of invaluable warmth, tenderness, and ideological inspiration.

Including from previous marriages and adoption, they have seven children. Capshaw has described: "I might not be comfortable pushing the limits in film the way he does, and he might not be as comfortable pushing the limits of our family. But I get to be the frontierswoman here, and he gets to be the frontiersman there...Steven and I are partners, and our life together is our production, so to speak. If I want to do something that affects that production, I want to have his support. If he doesn’t understand the piece, then I have to help explain it. Sometimes, in explaining it, I realize I don’t understand it. Then everybody’s saved a lot of work."

Brooke Shields (5/31/1965, Gemini Snake), Andre Agassi (4/29/1970, Taurus Dog) : The actor and tennis champion were a high-profile couple during the 1990s, and were married from 1997 to 1999. She sees her dreams and doesn’t falter in describing them, even if she’s having trouble figuring out how to make them come true. Five years older than I, she’s more worldly, more aware, and yet she also gives off an airy innocence, a neediness, which makes me want to protect her."

Reznor described: "I wanted to thank [Bowie] in the way that he helped me. And I reluctantly went backstage, feeling weird and ashamed, like, 'Hey, I’m the guy that puked on the rug'. And again, I was met with warmth, and grace, and love. And I started to say, ‘Hey listen, I’ve been clean for …’ I don’t even think I finished the sentence; I got a big hug. And [Bowie] said, ‘I knew. I knew you’d do that. I knew you’d come out of that.’ I have goosebumps right now just thinking about it. It was another very important moment in my life."

Cassel began work on Cassevetes' first film as a director, Shadows (1959), as an unpaid crew member, but was then cast in the movie and given an executive producer credit. Cassel once described: "[Cassavetes was] the older brother I never had and the closest male friend I ever had. He was extremely influential in creating my career and guiding me."

Discussing hardships including the death of her mother, Lil Mama described: "There were people around me that helped me and believed in me...I met my mentor MC Lyte. At one point, we were just really good friends. People would tell her, 'You know, Lil Mama really reminds me of you.' And they would tell me, 'You really remind me of MC Lyte.' And because of that connection from people comparing us all the time, we linked up. She would see how I was doing periodically. And more recently, she became a force in my life, a person who gives me direction, and a great mentor. Upon [MC Lyte’s] presence, I realized that a woman’s advice and a woman’s outlook is very important in my life."

Danica Patrick (3/25/1982, Aries Dog), Paul Hospenthal (6/5/1965, Gemini Snake) : The racecar driver and health professional were married from 2005 to 2013. Patrick described during their marriage: "Before we got married my husband asked, 'Are you ready? Have you done everything you want to do?' And I just thought, 'Am I going to throw this relationship away just to party more?' That seems boring, like a dead-end street."

Bieber has said similarly: "I don't want [Eilish] to lose it. I don't want her to go through anything I went through. I don't wish that upon anybody. If she ever needs me I'm just a call away."

Combined Relationship Horoscope

Final Words

The combination of two firstwest natives gives this relationship the dependable bedrock of a shared element, even if overfamiliarity sometimes causes a lack of excitement or makes dispute resolution difficult. The energy between the firsteast and secondeast involves perhaps a little more hesitation, but these signs can greatly admire each other, and with sensitivity and respect are likely to forge a supportive and lasting connection.
