Angelou was famously prompted to begin work on her acclaimed memoir, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, by her publisher telling her an autobiography could not be serious literature. She later described: "I said, ‘Well, hmmm, maybe I’ll try it.’ The truth is that [my publisher] had talked to James Baldwin, my brother friend, and Jimmy told him that ‘if you want Maya Angelou to do something, tell her she can’t do it.’" After the memoir's publication, Baldwin said: "This testimony from a Black sister marks the beginning of a new era in the minds and hearts and lives of all Black men and women."

Martin Short (3/26/1950, Aries Tiger), Steve Martin (8/14/1945, Leo Rooster) : The two actors have collaborated multiple times, from the film Three Amigos (1986) to the TV series Only Murders in the Building (2021-). Short has described: "You know, you make movies and you’re in each other’s lives for a few months, in Yugoslavia or wherever, and then you never see each other again. But Steve and I made each other laugh, and we’re clowns, so that’s a big seductive element. That created a determination to see each other, and then have dinners, and that evolved into taking family vacations together."

John Stockton (3/26/1962, Aries Tiger), Karl Malone (7/24/1963, Leo Rabbit) : The two basketball stars formed one of the most successful duos in NBA history, sharing an 18-year playoff streak with the Utah Jazz and achieving a combined 24 All-Star appearances. Stockton described in 2022: "I felt there was something magical. [Malone] read my mind. He caught everything. He finished everything. He had all my work ethic and then some. He loved the game. Just one thing after another. Just kind of bond, bond, bond, bond to where now he is literally inseparable for me as a brother...[T]here’s nothing I wouldn’t do for Karl Malone, and I think he feels the same way."

They have four children together. Olivia Newton-John (9/26/1948, Libra Rat), Delta Goodrem (11/9/1984, Scorpio Rat) : The two singer/actors became friends after Newton-John wrote to Goodrem, who was in hospital with cancer as an eighteen-year-old, sharing encouragement and drawing on her own cancer journey. They later collaborated, with Goodrem writing songs for Newton-John and playing her in the biopic, Olivia Newton-John: Hopelessly Devoted to You. After Newton-John died in 2022, Goodrem posted on Instagram: "The whole world will feel this heartbreak today because the entire world felt Olivia’s unmatched light. A force for good. A force of nature. Strong and kind. my mentor, my friend, my inspiration, someone who always guided me… she was always there for me. Family to me. Sinéad Cusack (2/18/1948, Aquarius Rat), Jeremy Irons (9/19/1948, Virgo Rat) : The two actors have been married since 1978 and have two sons. When they met, Irons mistakenly called Cusack "Siobhan" instead of Sinéad, prompting her to slap his face. Irons has described: "It's a stormy marriage, I'm pleased to say. I'm a difficult person, my wife's a difficult person. Living together is difficult, but that is precisely what we both need."
